folded edge of slit. Topstitch front
for a distance of 2 inches along the
waist seam 1/16 inch above opening,
stitching through seam allowance and
tab, and securely tacking each side of
the tab to the front at the opening.
The basic fabric side of the tab shall
be towards the outside of the coat.

Finished appearance. The belt loops
shall finish vertically straight and
shall be positioned with the top front
edge of the loops, for size 36 to 40
inclusive, 1/4 inch to the back of the
underarm seam, and for sizes 42 to 46
inclusive, with the top back edge of
loop placed 1/4 inch to the front of
the underarm seam. The belt loops
shall measure 2-1/2 + 1/8 inches long
from top to bottom folded edges. The
underloop for the belt fastener shall
have an opening of not less than 1-1/2
inches. All bartacks shall be made
across the entire width of the loops.

loop. Bartack the loop to the front
at the top edge of the lower pocket
flap to from the underloop for the
belt fastener. Turn loop up and, with
the top end turned under, bartack the
loop to the front 1/8 to 3/16 inch
from the folded edge, catching the
turned under portion of the loop in
the stitching. (See Figure 11).
