b. Mark the fronts 1-1/4 inches
below the bottom edge of the lower
pockets for the bottom turnup.
Trim the excess material if
necessary. In the finished coat,
the bottom turnup shall be 1 + 1/8
inches wide. Side seams and left
vent shall not be mitered at the
bottom.
c. Trim coat front interlining
1/4 to 3/8 inch back from top and
front edges of lapel and front
edge of coat. Trim the bottom of
the interlining 1/4 to 3/8 inch
above the mark for the bottom
turnup and the bottom edge of
coat, matching the length of right
and left backparts at the vent.

d. Marking and shaping the front
edges and lapels, and trimming the
bottom edge of the coat may be
accomplished with a clicker
machine using dies conforming to
pattern furnished.
e. In the finished coat, the left
front shall overlap the right
front 3-1/2 to 4 inches at the
bottom edge, and the lapels shall
be 3 + 1/8 inches wide for all
sizes.

Bind bottom turnup.

Finished appearance. The binding
shall be uniformly stitched and
shall not be tight or full causing
puckers, gathers, or pleats. The
basic material and edges of
binding shall be securely caught
in the stitching.
