Finished appearance. The sword
slit shall finish smooth and flat,
firmly stitched and properly
positioned with no puckers,
bulges, or raw edges.
a. Properly position left front

b. Cut opening for sword slit tab
in lining to correspond with
opening in front.
c. Fell raw edges of lining at

d. Cut two inch long opening in
sword slit patch, 1/2 to 5/8 inch
from top edge. The opening shall
be one inch on each side of
vertical center of patch.
e. Pull tab through opening to
inside and insert the tab through
the patch opening, aligned with
the opening in the lining.
f. Fell patch to lining on all
