d. Press the lower fronts and pockets
smooth and flat.
e. Press the sides, working the
fullness towards the back.
f. Press the back smooth and flat,
removing all fullness and lapping the
left vent on the right vent.
g. Press the sleeves smooth and flat,
creasing at the backarm and forearm.
The backarm crease shall be on the
backarm seam. The forearm crease
shall extend uniformly to a point 1 to
1-1/2 inches above the bottom edge of
the breast pockets. The backarm
crease shall be in line with the
forearm crease.
h. Block the shoulders to remove the
fullness and press shoulders smooth on
a shoulder shaping machine. Press the
shoulder straps flat.
i. Press the armholes solid from the
inside, creasing the armholes at the
front and armpit. The armpit and the
back of the armhole shall be held
short while pressing.
j. Block the armholes on a pressing
buck, shrinking in the top sleeves.
k. Press lower edge of coat smooth ,
flat and even.
l. Remove all wrinkles and
impressions from under pocket flaps.
Remove all impressions of the side and
center back seam allowances from the
coat. Press linings throughout,
removing all wrinkles and creases.
Press the front and yoke lining pleats
smooth and flat. Remove all gloss
marks.
76 Mark for buttons.
a. Mark the right front for the
location of 40-line insignia buttons
and one 34-line sewing hole button to
properly engage with the buttonholes
in the left front.
