7 Make optional one-piece belt (see
Figure 7). (cont'd)
l. Place the belt keeper on the belt
at the square end and secure by
buttoning the end. Press the belt
smooth and flat with a heated pressing
iron or pressing machine. Ends of the
keeper shall be spread open and
pressed flat on the underside at the
center of belt.
8 Attach snap fasteners.
Finished appearance. The snap
fasteners shall be securely attached
to the belt. On the finished coat,
the belt ends shall be fastened
without misalignment or gap. On the
standard belt, the fasteners shall be
stitched through the interlining only.
On the optional belt, the stitching
shall not show on the opposite side of
the belt.
