Cutting.
a. Cut coats in strict accordance
with patterns furnished by the
Government.
b. Cut all materials in the
direction indicated by the
directional lines on the patterns.
c. Cut all polyester/wool parts
of the coat, including the belt,
from one piece of basic material,
except the following parts may be
cut from ends: armhole shields,
belt lining, belt loops and belt
keeper; but when so cut, the parts
shall harmonize with the shade of
the coat. Belt loops and belt
keeper may be banded 1 inch wide,
and belt lining may be cut from a
banding machine 2-1/4 inches wide.
When armhole shields are cut from
ends, the shields shall match each
other.
d. Cut fronts, yoke and vent
lining parts of the coat and
facing for inside pocket from one
piece of rayon lining material.
All other rayon lining parts may
be cut from ends. When pairs of
sleeve linings are cut from ends,
the shade of the linings shall
match each other. The belt
fastener shall be cut 1-5/8 inches
wide. Bias binding shall be cut
5/8 to 7/8 inch wide.
e. The two parts of the under
collar cut from under collar
material shall match each other,
or cut the under collar material
in one piece in lieu of two parts.
