Finished appearance. Make a double
welt inverted pocket in each front at
the pattern marks. The top welt
shall be 7/8 ± 1/8 inch wide. The
bottom welt shall be 1/2 ± 1/8 inch
wide. The depth at the center of
each pocket shall be in accordance
with the patterns. The opening of
each pocket shall be not less than
6-1/2 inches.
a. The top and bottom welts shall be
made from one ply of basic material
and one ply of fusible interlining.
b. Position the fusible interlining
material on the underside of the top
and bottom welts and fuse as
specified in 3.6.2.
c. Fold in half lengthwise and press
the top welt (with interlining).
d. Fold in half lengthwise and press
the bottom welt.
e. Mark fronts for position of the
pocket in accordance with mark in the
pattern.
f. Position the facing on the pocket

material at the back portion of
pocketing. Fold under the front edge
of facing 1/4 inch and stitch to the
pocket 1/8 inch from the folded edge.
A selvage edge need not be turned.
