4.4.1.1. Sampling. Sampling of components shall be as follows.
The lot size for these sampling tests shall be as specified in
MIL-STD-1490. If one or more sample units fail to meet any test
requirements listed below, the lot represented shall not be
acceptable.

4.4.2 End-item examination. Prior to the formation of a lot and
as a final step in the contractors production control plan, each
coat shall be buttoned on a model form and examined for those
defects identified by an asterisk (*) and listed as selected
defects in MIL-STD-1490. Any coat containing a selected defect
shall not be included in the end item lot. The model forms used
for the separate sizes of coat shall be as shown in Table V. The
sample unit shall be one coat.
